DemandVerified™ / Customer Acquisition Economics

Measure the customer, not just the click.

Connect media costs to appointments, customers, revenue, and gross profit using clearly defined cohorts and denominators.

MetricCalculation / definitionContext required
CPMMedia spend ÷ impressions × 1,000Exposure cost; it does not measure audience quality.
CPCMedia spend ÷ clicksResponse cost; clicks may not become leads.
CPLMedia spend ÷ defined leadsState whether a lead is raw, deduplicated, or initially qualified.
Cost per appointmentIncluded acquisition cost ÷ booked appointmentsDefine the cost scope and treatment of rescheduled bookings.
Cost per showIncluded acquisition cost ÷ attended appointmentsAttendance is distinct from booking and sale.
CACIncluded acquisition cost ÷ new customersSpecify whether sales labor, agency, data, and creative costs are included.
Revenue per customerRecognized customer revenue ÷ customers in the cohortUse consistent periods and account for refunds where applicable.
Gross profit per customer(Revenue − direct delivery costs) ÷ customersThis is not net profit; acquisition and overhead treatment must be explicit.
LTVExpected or realized customer value over a defined horizonSpecify revenue versus contribution, repeat assumptions, horizon, and uncertainty.

Ratios with a zero or unavailable denominator are undefined, not zero performance. Use the same cohort and reporting window when comparing results.

Follow the same cohort

Impressions, clicks, leads, appointments, shows, and customers describe different stages. Use a consistent attribution window and lead definition so the ratios are comparable.

02 / Customer Acquisition Economics

Separate acquisition cost from unit value

CAC depends on which acquisition costs are included. Revenue per customer describes sales value, while gross profit accounts for direct delivery costs. Neither is automatically net profit.

Treat lifetime value as an estimate when it is one

Define whether LTV is revenue or contribution, the horizon, and the retention or repeat-purchase assumptions. Do not compare a forecast lifetime value with a short-term cost as though both are equally certain.

Model a change before promising one

The calculator lets you set your own scenario assumptions. Better audience context may support a more deliberate test, but it does not guarantee a lower CPL, lower CAC, or higher revenue.
