Not all conversions create the same business value.
Compare customer cohorts by value, cost, service mix, geography, and the time needed to realize an outcome.
Arithmetic assumptions: A and B use 40% gross margin; C uses 30%. CAC = included acquisition spend ÷ customers. Revenue = customers × average customer value. Gross profit = revenue × assumed margin, before acquisition spend and overhead. CAC is rounded for display.
Look beyond the conversion count
Review customer value, gross margin, service line, territory, lead source, audience, campaign, and time to close. Repeat revenue and lifetime value are useful only when the observation period or forecast assumptions are explicit.
Use one economic definition
Define which costs enter CAC, what revenue is recognized, and which direct costs reduce gross profit. Gross profit in the example is before acquisition spend and overhead; it is not net profit.
A small illustration, not evidence
The matrix uses invented audiences and explicit arithmetic assumptions to show how lead volume and customer economics can differ. These are not DemandVerified customer results, forecasts, or benchmarks.
Test what the difference means
Review cohort maturity, channel exposure, offer, service capacity, and follow-up. A difference between audiences does not establish that audience selection caused the outcome.
